Well, I'm here in Afghanistan on the advance party. Its really great, I'm missing harry though, our inside jokes are just me being retarded when he's not around to laugh with me. We've all been pretty busy getting ready, and I'm really excited for the next year. I'm not sure what's going to happen once I get out for sure. I felt like I had a clearer picture a few weeks ago, but now Brock is most likely joining the military(good for him, be sure to support him) so without a wingman for WV or Co then I don't know what I'll do, might go hang out with Harry and Joe for a bit. We'll see. Megan had her baby, Doc had his birthday, so that's awesome for both of them. I'm hoping to talk to them soon, so I can say hi. I'm really missing family and friends already, which is kinda pathetic, but everyone needs somebody to lean on(*cue musical number).
At any rate, I feel like there are lots to talk about, but I'll give you cliff notes of things I HOPE to blog about later in more depth, right now I feel really tired and beat.
-Getting stranded outside of a US FOB in Kuwait.
-Getting my helmet run over
-Being commo and my thoughts on it
-missing a line platoon
-Random hopes for how awesome my future wife/robot overlord will be
-That other stuff.
For now, take care, love you all, be sure to comment, I hate not getting comments or only ones from my family(It doesn't mean I don't love you, family)
Goodbye from the middle east,
Phillip
Well even if family comments aren't as exciting, I'm still gonna comment! Sorry to burst your bubble, I'm not your future wife commenting right now. :) So we've been wondering what you're up to! I guess I need to check facebook more often because I think you use that a lot more than this blog. But I'm glad you made it there alright. So you'll be there for a year again?! Sheesh, you've been in the army for forever it feels like! I want you to call or blog more so I can hear how you're doing, what your jobs are, etc. I just talked to a guy who just got back from Afghanistan and he says that his brother is there, so he wants to know what "area" or base you're at. I told him I have absolutely no idea what base you're at because I'm a really great sister. So tell us more details, comment back to me on my blog! We love you!
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to see a post from you, Phillip! I'm glad you are all right and looking forward to the year ahead! We love you, and I look forward to reading about the adventures you mentioned!
ReplyDeleteTake care, and protect that helmet!
Buuuuum, ba-da-da-dum, ba-da-da-dum, ba-da-da-dum, ba-da-da-daaaaaa, dum, lean on me -- SOOOOOMEtimes in our lives (ba-da-dum), we all have pains (ba-da-dum), we all have so-ah-oa-rows. BUUUUUUt, if we are stroooong, we can hold oooooon, till we reach, to-mo-ah-ah-row.
ReplyDeleteCompliments of your friendly neighborhood thespian.
Glad you updated! Your life sounds... bouncing adjectives around in my head... mostly like you're making a lot of good stories.
Also, kudos for realizing that a wife and robot overlord should ideally be the same person.
Glad you got there safe! Although, it sounds like your helmet met a different fate. Hopefully you have an extra?!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear the stories.
Be sure to check my blog for pictures of your new little niece! Did a photo shoot today and will try to get those up this weekend.
Glad you still like comments from the family, even though we are just...family. :/
Hopefully you get figured out what to do when you get out of the army! We'd love to have a visit. We might try to drive out to Idaho again next year too, so hopefully we can time our visits better than we did this last time. Remember how you left Idaho a few hours before we got there?! That was craziness! Yes, let's do better next time.
I would like to see a picture of that helmet? I have a feeling you needed to try harder since the helmet may still be in one piece.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you totally ignored my FB message....will you send me your address so that I may stalk you with care packages?
-The other Waindle
Yes, more family.. blah blah blah. :) Actually, I really want to hear your stories. Does "commo" mean unconscious or comatose, or something else entirely? We miss you and like talking to you when you call. Write your crazy stories down before you forget them. You'll be glad later that you did!!
